Relief supplies for those affected by the earthquake in Turkey

The earthquakes in the Turkish-Syrian border region claimed many victims and left a trail of devastation. Many people lost their homes, their families, their livelihoods. Even two months after the first catastrophic earthquake, there are still no signs of normality.

In order to be able to contribute at least a small part and to support the community of some staff members, we loaded our van and trailer with food, baby food, hygiene items and tents on 27 March. On 31 March, two volunteers set off for Altınözü, Turkey.

The journey went smoothly. At the Turkish border, our aid transport was then accompanied and coordinated by the authorities. After about 36 hours and 3371 kilometres, our staff reached the municipality of Altınözü late in the evening on 04 April.

On the following days, the cargo was sorted and distributed to the community members. Our committed employees also met other helpers from Germany on site, who actively assisted them with the distribution.

We would like to thank everyone involved for the smooth running and the effort. A big thank you especially to our two staff members who voluntarily decided to travel with the van to the affected region to help. We also wish all those affected and their families much strength and hope in this difficult time.
